Default Spain, Toledo to Seville, driving

I will be driving from Toledo, Spain to Seville, Spain during Holy Week in
April, 2003.

I am looking for any suggestions of great spots to visit along that route.
Small towns that are charming, interesting places to stay, etc.

The route looks like it is 483 Km and I want to spread it out over 3 days
and 2 nights.

Here's the grand plan: 7 nights in Spain.
First night in Madrid after arrival.
Train to Toledo.
2nd and 3rd nights in Toledo.
Pick up rental car.
Nights 4 and 5 on the road to Seville.
Night 6 in Seville.
Return rental car.
High speed train back to Madrid.
Night 7 in Madrid, before a flight home.

Background: 2 adults and 12 year old daughter, 4 prior driving trips to
Europe in the past 4 years.

I would appreciate your ideas, and an email copy directly as well as posting
your answer here would be helpful. Thanks.

If you take the western route, (not the one south of Madrid), both Mérida
and Casares are worth a stop. If you feel rich, stay at the parador in
Merida.

Cordoba is the obvious recommendation - a traditional Andalusian town with la
Mezquita - a Moorish mosque. The countryside to the NE of Cordoba is
particularly beautiful - mountain passes etc.

A couple of thoughts which you may or may not have taken into account - the Holy
Week festivals in Seville are enormous. Depending on which day you arrive, there
is likely to be heavy traffic heading into Seville and a severe shortage of
hotel rooms.

Also, if you haven't visited Seville before, I'd leave yourself more than a day.
It is one of the most spectacular cities I have ever been to, particularly
during Holy Week.
