I thought the food was fine, and Greek music that isn't echoing down a
valley at a Panegiri hurts my ears.

The cheese was ok, as well as the sorbet... But the polenta was horrible and the rice
unedible. I'm not eating there again.

Not true, Gaston the dog got some meaty stuff from me! I also had eggs en
cocotte, soft boil eggs in a sauce. It was a bit like ¦ufs en meurette which
comes in a rich deep brown sauce. I had a piece of beef, not bad at all.
Gaston got a little of that.

Donna had cheese at the end, vacherin is in season now. She said it was
pretty good. In season she buys vacherin Mont d'Or coulant (runny),
she can down a single one at a sitting. It is relatively rare to
find it in a restaurant and in fact cheese boards have been
on their way out in French restaurants for years. An authentic
plateau de fromage is rare.

The restaurant is really worth another visit. (Les Fous d'en Face
3 rue du Bourg-Tibourg). Donna, who has a limited eating choices
found everything she had very good. We may go back. But Paris
has amazing choices.

Stanislas ordered the wine, which was from the Bordeaux region (Grave).
He has definite opinions on wine! Donna is a bit choosey too but
at my age I will drink anything. A flu I had 15 years ago came close
to destroying my sense of smell but did free me to drink anything!

I'm still grieving the loss of La Cloche à Fromage, in the 1st arrondissement.

This may explain why you liked the food.

I think there's probably some obscure connection here: Mixi, fast food
and headless chicken, something like that anyway.
