LOL I didnt know comments about food had to be proportional to rental
income. Its weird the relationships people expect in this thread.

It's bollocks for the future heir to the throne to say in public that McDs
should be shut down and then deny he had ever said it.

Go on you! You are taking the piss again :-)

In the Netherlands a quick snack at McDs is better than alternatives.

I'm sure you have dined at FEBO more than me. I took one look and retched.

That's not talking bollocks about food- even if true. I've read a lot of
bollocks about his statement though- most recently Janet Street Porter's
column. (I agree with her distaste for "finest" labels in supermarkets
though.)

No- it's probably pretty good. I've liked any of the other duchy
originals products. Apparently, they're too expensive for most people to
be able to buy them...

I forget if Waterloo has a M&S Simply Food. They're usually very good
for a quick takeaway IME.

They do - perfectly located for taking M&S chocolate pudding back to
France on the Eurostar!!

I just read this which was interesting-

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/6407343.stm

All about high salt content in some bread. I do buy sliced bread
sometimes, which I like for toast. (Remember Delia's telly programme
which spent about 10 minutes teaching you how to make proper toast!?)
Interesting to note that the one they mention with the lowest salt
content is also one of my favourites- Burgen's Wholegrain and Cranberry!

And carbs. Which have the same effect as sugar.

Hey, meesta, wanna read some food porn?
http://www.mcdonalds.co.uk/?f=y
Try adding a Big Mac, a medium fries, a medium coke and an
apple pie.

kcals 1235
fat 52 gms
protein 36gms
carbs 154 gms
salt 3.5 gms

I did like the f=y in the address; a joker in the McDonald's
webmakers?

Unadulterated?

Try an experiment. Remove a patty from your next burger and
place it somewhere out of the pooch's reach and away from
insects. See how long it takes to decay - if it does.

I quite like their duck-filled wraps!

On the subject of fast food, there's a place in the Arndale Centre in
Manchester where I always buy a sandwich if I'm passing at lunchtime. A
baguette filled with generous amounts of parma ham, fresh mozzarella and
rocket. It can almost feed two, and costs 2.50.

possibly now, not then. Underneath the arches The Archduke is good for
a full meal, The Hole in the Wall for a pint, they are both still
there. There used to be a burger chain called "Casey Jones" on the
station at one time, dont think they exist any more. We used to eat in
a restro called papagallo till there was a redevelopment plan on that
whole parade of shops, although nothing ever seems to have happened.
Ah, yes, "The birdcage" pub, crappy beer and a tiny dance floor.
