What can I expect to pay for a reseanably priced hotel per night in Paris,
per person? Not to shabby and yet not to luxourious.
Perhaps near "Le Opera" area.
Regards
Sam

That's really too open ended to answer. If you like continental-style pensions,
though, you can really do a lot better in Paris than in NY or London, like
$80-$100 for a decent room. For instance, the Hotel Nesle has huge rooms with
huge private baths, and is extremely charming and well located on a quiet street
near the Pont Neuf, for @ $80-90; however, there is no elevator and the spiral
staircase (really beautiful old pine btw) is narrow.

There are many reasonable hotels; you just have to do your homework.
Don't consider the area, the Metro will take you anyplace. Usually the
farther from the center ((in contrast to the area you mentioned) the
more expensive.

the above is France Hotel Reservation.Com.
If you type in www.francehotelreservation.com, it will also go to the above
and default to the above address. (I say this since the address looks
strange.
Also if you go to www.bonjourparis.com and look in the hotel section (and
archives there is multo info. One can also write into the bulletin boards,
or "ask Karen" and will get a reply toute suite. Great web site

I can't agree completely. It's very nice to be able to stroll out of your
hotel in the evening and not have to take the metro. I like to be in the
6th myself, stayed just off the Place de l'Odéon. But it doesn't have to be
in the centre, there are lots of nice areas, through the city. Along Rue
Moffetard or Rue Monge for example, and the prices will be more reasonable
there.
