Default Hotel Tornabuoni Beacci/Florence

My wife and I plan on staying here in mid August for a week. Please
provide any comments regarding the hotel, nearby restaurants and
sites. Thankyou in advance.

Hi Jerry,

I'm biased because a friend of mine, Angelo, works there. The staff is
extremely friendly and will try to do anything they can to make your
stay a pleasant one. They really are service oriented. I know this
sounds like a commercial, but we've known him for years and do feel he
does an exceptional job.

The hotel itself is in a good location. It is in the center of Florence
and near the Arno.

I wish you a good trip. My wife and I moved to Florence in March and we
are really enjoying it here. We plan to stay at least a year.

Cheers,

Max

i attempted to post a reply to this post yesterday and it has
since vanished into the air. so forgive me if this arrives as a double
post.
we have stayed at the hotel tournabuoni beacci every fall for the
last four years. it is our very favorite hotel in florence. i know angelo
(who max had mentioned), and he has gone out of his way twice for us on
previous visits. the staff is very helpful, and the roof top terrace is
gorgeous at sunset. they may serve breakfast on the roof during the
warmer months. we are always there in the fall so i'm not sure.
right across the arno from the hotel is a great restaurant. il
cantinone on via san spirito. it is an old wine cellar that now serves
typical tuscan food. the bistecca is excellent. the walnut ravioli still
have me dreaming seven months later. also, near the hotel just across the
arno is mama gina's. i had the best eggplant parmesan of my life there
for lunch.
hope this helps. i can't wait to get back to florence myself. and
max, how lucky for you living there!

ciao,
allix
