Then you have to figure out the logic of the bus numbering. (Clue:
there isn't any)

Then your confidence is misplaced. Perhaps they got the signs done by
the same guy who designed gate 2E ??

Another place where the signage is bad is Gare du Nord - a station
which is the point of arrival of vast numbers of foreigners who then
have to negotiate a nightmare of confusing and conflicting information
in order to commence their journey inside Paris.

I think CDG is worse, but I won't go to the wall on this one.

Yeah. That's just what I mean by being able to read French. And I
didn't understand what your wrote.

We flew Aer Lingus from CDG to Dublin. We were directed to a lounge
area when we asked at the terminal entry point - but we simply
couldn't find the Aer Lingus gate. No signs, nothing. Eventually, I
wandered the area and gradually other passengers searching for Aer
Lingus joined me. At least I'd allowed plenty of time.

We finally found it hidden around a corner in a cul-de-sac. In fact,
we had been looking at the clerk's back through a glass wall for a
while before we realised it from Aer Lingus logos on documents on the
desk.

Later, before boarding, an Aer Lingus spokesman came over and
apologised and said that the Terminal Authorities would not allow them
to put up signage for directions. We offered him some strongly put
constructive suggestions about using some staff members to direct
people from the other lounge, and some thoughts on where to put signs
and other articles. He seemed to think they wouldn't fit in the place
we suggested.

Well, they need all the space they need to support the roof nowadays...

The bus you must take is a white and yellow ADP bus. Lines 2 or 5 (but
better ask the drvier anyhow!)

Avoid walking since 2 C and 2 F are not closely connected, you have to
take an underpass between them

<http://www.adp.fr> should be helpful

It was built in the 70s when some "new" architecture was praised... it
took badly woth the time. However it is being heavily overhauled (it
gets less and less frequented with the time)...

I was there in '01 for the very first time -- flew into CDG-1 and wanted to take
the Metro into downtown. The Metro seems to service CDG-2 but not CDG-1. From
CDG-1 there were no signs (I could interpret) to tell me how to get to CDG-2.

Now, possibly CDG-2 has some other name and it's referred to by that other name
on signs, but for someone newly-arrived with no experience of what's where, it
was a very frustrating experience. Eventually we found the shuttle bus to take
us over to CDG-2 and all was well, but it took a long time.

As far as I know, an architect do not design signs.

I can understand the confusion at Gare du Nord if you need to take the
RER. But as for international trains, I think that Thalys or Eurostars
are very easy to find.

The RER should go to both.

Never experienced the interconnection between CDG-1 and 2 so I can't
comment.

Unfortunately the only way you can go is to walk. If you are taking Air
France, be prepared to miss your connection. This is because most
flights form the US arrive at the closed Terminal 3 and you are bussed
then to Terminal 2 after waiting 20 minutes for the steps to arrive at
the plane. Then the passport line is long and slow. And then you have a
10-minute walk between terminals. I would advise going right to the
transfer desk in Terminal 2, get a later flight and spend a few hours
walking in Paris.

I assume you are on Delta transatlantic? Air France will met your plane and
give you an escort through the security lines if you are on a tight
connection. It worked for me last year. (side note running as best she
could one of my traveling companions made the flight but was a mess by the
time she got there. look for the Air France folks on the jetway, life
doesn't have to be all bad!)

Sorry. The right line is line 3!
