Assuming you're travelling in the same direction the next boat is 24h later
so you'll need to find accommodation.
Yes it's possible to make a break but then you must have a reservation for
each leg.

I'm sure they were glad to see the back of that foreign prick.

At least you're being honest. Most posters here would like to think
they have never been 'ugly' in another country.

I always stand up for my rights at home or abroad. I have had three hotel
rooms in one night before being satisfied. I have told the owner that we no
longer wanted our dinner forty minutes after ordering it and still waiting
for our starter. After reading a menu outside we often go into a restaurant
but leave without ordering if things are not right. I think that my biggest
complaints in restaurants were in Lisbon (corked wine) , HelsingĆør (the
wrong fish served but denied) Odense (wrong pasta served and it was cold)
and finally in NYC the worst and one of the most expensive steaks I have
ever had.
In HelsingĆør after complaining about a terrible room in a hotel (Hamlet)
that had builders and decorators working in it the receptionist asked how
much we would like to pay. I mistakenly offered half the price, free would
have been over the odds to stay there. We had booked in advance without
being warned of the chaos.
Derek.

Remember that to be an "Ugly American" you have to be a good guy trying
to help the locals. And be old enough to be ugly.

They are very nice foto's, and I will never bother pining for a DLR
again. The captions could be enhanced, though; I can spot (I assume)
a Lofoten when I see one, but not everyone can.

Derek,
Did you go ? Details ??

Bert,
I just saw this thread and visited that site you mentioned below.
I selected Virtual Tour and what a great piece of software they have.
http://arctic360.720pls.com/rw/eng/
It's like I'm back there.
Great video/stills and it works so well. Select video - "Panorama
deck" - the 360 starts. Click on " port of call" - it fades beautifully
to that 360. Now if I could just get the webcams on the Northernmost
ships to see NordKapp live ( the ships there aren't listed - is that due
to "too far north?" )
