Not having eaten there myself, I've only heard good reviews, although
most say it's pretty good value for money for such a restaurant.

Months.

They'll be millions on sites like www.london-eating.co.uk or any other
of the million or so london restaurant sites.

Jim.

Following up to Ben Robert Smith

As long ahead as you can if, like me, you are a "nobody"..

*All* the celebs have been there and you will be unpopular with
the management if you behave in a gauche way because Elton John
is at the next table, note it has changed hands and the old
owners have set up at the Wolseley, I don't know how many staff
went with them, but the doorman was one.
The food and ambience are quite relaxed, its not extra fancy
cooking, more a place the theatre trade etc can relax with some
comfort food. The menu has things like corned beef hash with
fried egg alongside sevruga caviar or poulet de landes. There are
fish cakes, shepherds pie, CTM and a burger too. Some items like
bang bang chicken have been on the menu for years, reinstated
after protests by regulars.
Note I haven't been for over a year, so it could have changed,
but I hear no bad rumours.

There is a book "the Ivy" by critic A A Gill.

As Mike and others say, it's a relaxed and friendly place which -- once
you're in the door -- doesn't look down on you because you're a
non-celeb. Food is very good though not quite great, prices are very
reasonable for central London. As for getting in, the time of day makes
a big difference. Post-theatre (say, 10pm onwards) is difficult.
Earlier in the evening you might be able to just turn up and get in --
likewise Sunday lunchtime. The Gill book is an interesting read, by the
way.
