My comment was about their system in the second section of the dictionary
(Arts-Lettres-Sciences) where place names and other proper names are listed.
For many entries, no phonetic pronunciation is given. When the phonetic
pronunciation _is_ given, it seems to be in cases where the pronunciation
deviates from what one would expect, i.e. for Senlis they give [sanliss],
for Cassis no pronunciation given. Since a final 's' is not usually
pronounced in French, I would then assume that according to Larousse the
final 's' in Cassis is not pronounced. What confused me was that Larousse
gives a pronunciation [èks] for Aix-en-Provence, but doesn't give one for
any other of the Aix- entries which made me wonder if those were pronounced
differently for some reason.

Unless the next word begins with a vowel, then it's prounced (like the
English S.)
Don't think so since "paix" is a noun and I don't think liaison occurs
between a noun and a following word.

No, but place names ending in "-is" often have the "s" pronounced.

Which is right, but many people pronounce the "s".

Sorry, I hadn't understood. Sure, they should have given the pronounciation
for all "Aix" entries.

The x in Aix was certainly pronounced on my many visits to France (by the
French I mean, not just me!).

Liaison is generally unrelated to the part of speech that a word represents.
Additionally, liaison between nouns and their following adjectives is among
the most durable types of liaison, used in all levels of speech.
