We (a couple) intend being in Barcelona 20/9/01 for a week. Can anyone recommend a
good, reasonably priced, clean hotel? Centrally located (Ramblas preferably) and
definitely with own bathroom. Have been recommended Hotel Jardi but have had no luck
trying to contact them either by fax or phone and don't know if they have an email
address. Would be grateful for any other suggestions. Thanks.

We stay at the Regencia Colon which is really nice, it is located in the Gothic
Quarter of the City, around the corner from the cathedral. It's a beautiful medieval
quarter, with narrow shady streets and a lot of nice restaurants; a double costs
around $100 per night, and it is within easy walking distance of the Ramblas. You can
call Utell for reservations, or look at their website: www.utell.com. Danielle

Catalunya Plaza, top of Ramblas, across the street from the park and subway entrance.

I'll second the recommendation on the Hotel Continental....we stayed there a couple
of years ago. It doesn't look like much from the outside - it's on the second floor,
above some shops - but it's very attractive inside.
As well as a nice breakfast, there is complimentary coffee and nibbles in the bar all
day. And the location, about 50 yards from Playa Cataluna, is ideal.

I'd second that recommendation. Stayed there a year ago, great place. Location is
super, nice clean rooms, and a good staff.
I'd stay there again.
