In Finland two rival supermarket chains nowdays use only the first letter
of their name in signs, K (for Kesko) and S (for SOK). A few years ago K
started to indicate the size of the supermarket by the number of K's so
that small food shops have only one K and the biggest markets four K's.
A German english-teacher friend of mine asked after a stroll in
Helsinki, that there were several KKK-markets around, but where are the
SS-markets hidden?
Have to say very few Finns get any funny ideas looking at big KKK-Market
signs. Visitors from North America, however, get mixed expressions on
their faces seeing these signs.
(Non-Americans - pls google kkk to get the point)

Shame :-)
Be prepared!
"The sums were done by Chris Goodall, campaigning author of How to Live a
Low-Carbon Life, based on the greenhouse gases created by intensive beef
production. “Driving a typical UK car for 3 miles [4.8km] adds about 0.9 kg
[2lb] of CO2 to the atmosphere,” he said, a calculation based on the
Government’s official fuel emission figures. “If you walked instead, it would
use about 180 calories. You’d need about 100g of beef to replace those calories,
resulting in 3.6kg of emissions, or four times as much as driving."

Some McDonalds in Germany do sell beer, others don't. Sometimes beer
is available but not listed on the menu. It's up to the management.
A friend of mine usually orders a beer with his "Happy Meal".

It was a rhetorical question- I assumed they probably did!
Still,
thanks for taking the time to explain it. For those that would want to
go to a McDonalds while visiting Germany!
