I've just being try to plan a route across Europe by car, and
traditionally I've used the fina or shell one which was ok, but slow.
I've just found a brilliant one on the RAC site which is completely
real time, interactive and allows "ruler" measurements and stuff.
Cooler than a cool thing on a cool day in cooldom. Just thought you'd
like to know. I have no connection etc etc.

More like "funky" in the bad sense:
"Sorry, a match for [London (UK) ] could not be found in our database.
Click back to try again, ensuring both spelling and the country are
correct. Alternatively try an alternative location."
I'm pretty sure London is in the UK.

The RAC Route Planner takes the routing features including interactive
Java stuff from http://map24.com/. Why not use the original? Other
than the RAC Route Planner, Map24 doesn't bring my computer to
freeze...

Is that London,UK , London, GB or any other variation ? This seems to
happen on a number of websites , mostly travel or weather. On a
European planner obviously you wouldn't think of trying just "London"
?

The country is specified in a pulldown.

I found this site to be totally useless with Netscape v.7 - it does seem to
work with IE, though.

If you just enter (no GB or UK, or England), the program comes up
with a list of places, including various London airports.

I missed the original post, but I just received the CD based Map & Travel
2003 for route planning in the UK and the rest of Europe. I think it is a
great program, not entirely intuitive, but great nevertheless.
