Hi

Check global weather stats here -

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv...historical.htm

Most museums etc are open in the cities.
Beach resorts are empty except far South and Canary Islands.

Skiing resorts not really under way until January.

Good time to visit Australia !

Chilly, cloudy and inclined to be wet, judging by my own experiences.

Given the fact that, on a map, most of Europe appears to be a bit further north than
the U.S., I'd say for the same reason the summer resorts in the U.S. are closed at
that time of year.... beach weather it ain't!

Plenty of museums, theater, opera, concerts, etc. in Paris and London - I've never
been to Switzerland, so can't answer about that. (Skiing, maybe? Depends upon where
in Switzerland you plan to go.)

It really does depend on where you are going. It's like asking what the weather is
like in the USA in Nov/Dec.

Freezing/snow in the North, cold/rainy/windy in the middle, autumny in the south. The
only parts of Europe which have pleasant weather at that time of year are probably
the Canaries and the southern tips of Italy and Greece. Seeing that you post from a
tropical country, you should also be warned that the daylight times are quite short.
It gets dark very early, around 3 or 4 pm in some areas.

The weather . It's just not tourist season except in ski resorts.

    >What can we do / see around this time in Paris, Switzerland & London ?

In the cities, all of the usual attractions should be open. No problem there, except
the early sunset. Switzerland ... well, winter resorts, skiing, possibly hiking in
the snow (They won't have much snow in the lowlands yet, but in the mountains very
probably).

Being winter, I would expect long stretches of sunshine, and a gentle breeze.

It it ludicrous really. The tourists all leave, and then the resorts shut
their doors.

Visit the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Queen in London, and buy a cuckoo clock in
Switzerland.

Need?

If you are not trolling, you could at least make a bit of an effort before posting.
For example, mention specific things you might want to do/see, or at the very least
your general interests.

I have a tour company that does only tours to Switzerland. If you would like, you can
see where all we go and do in October. www.SwissJourney.com

Have a wonderful time, email me if I can help you further. Silk

No. But still, the fact that Europe is further north is more than compensated by
the Gulf Stream, which ensures that most of Europe enjoys much milder weather
than the same latitudes in other continents. Europe has palm trees in latitudes
equal to Newfoundland and Labrador. Still, Europe is not a tropical place, and
winter is winter.

The resorts in Chamonix and Megeve probably don't have enough snow yet. All of
London and Paris can be seen. Parts of Switzerland will be covered by snow. I'm not
at all sure what you mean? What sort of resorts are you referring to? There are
very few beach resorts or lake resorts in England, France or Switzerland that are
winter resorts.

A lot of the south, southwest, and west of France is summer tourist. They close up
for the whole winter. Nice and Canne stay open. Paris & London are great, as most of
the tourists are gone. The temp is in the neighborhood of 0 celcius, but more
significiently, there is very little sunshine. Maybe only 6 or 7 hrs of daylite.

Nov/Dec is game season in France. The cooking is fabulous.

I prefer Nov/March for Europe big city, to avoid tourists.
