Why did there have to be a provocation, and more to the point, why bring
colour into it? Not all white countries have good healthcare, and some
'non-white' countries have better healthcare than we (in the UK) do.
What is a white country anyway- what's the percentage of "whites" you
have to have to get that status?

I think it's about taking dubious cheapshots (you note Barbara's
description of it, but you put "unacceptable" in quotes) like "Better to
struggle back to a white nation if possible" and then playing innocent
when called on it. You're going on about it being PC piles onto that. I
don't think minding your language is PC- I've been called on it before,
and in retrospect probably correctly.

I would suggest letting it go, David. I don't doubt you agree with me,
even if my choice of language was purposefully facetious.

True, but I think he refers to Samuel Clemens aka Mark

Well, "PC" or not, let's face it, people. If injured or
taken seriously ill while traveling, wouldn't MOST of us
prefer to be returned home for treatment? I think the
preference has less to do with relative qualities of medical
care than with wanting familiar surroundings under such
circumstances.

And I thought that he was commenting on Tom Lehrer. I suppose you might
classify Molly Ivins as a satarist though.

You really don't get it, do you? I agree with you, that if stuck in a
third world country with poor health care, I'd go back to the UK, though
in some third world countries, there are rich hospitals that I could pay
to treat me well. It's your language that is the problem, and you damn
well know what is going on. Barbara put it well enough- I've no more to
add at this point. Not that it would make much difference.

I cant be bothered to pretend third world medicine is good or that a
lot of the third world isn't "black". Feel free to quote Singapore
over and over.
I much prefer the attitude of the morning presenter on BBC London who,
...on second thoughts I'll finish tomorrow when I have time.

have a minute.
quebec is french speaking, that doesnt mean some people there dont
speak french, africa is black and that doesnt mean there are no white
people. Black and white are not racist terms, they are just
descriptions. The over PC bloke on GLR cut a bloke off because he
described a "multi ethnic community" as "like the united nations".
Luckily they have another presenter who doesnt piss about pretending
we are all colour blind, but he has the advantage of beong black, so
its impossible hes racist (no, I dont mean thats true).
