Concorde Loses Rudder Part
Concorde loses part of rudder
An Air France Concorde has lost part of its rudder on a transatlantic
flight, but has been able to land safely.
The plane took off from Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport, and reached
New York as scheduled.
It is believed to be the first time there has been a rudder problem on
an Air France Concorde.
British Airways has had five rudder incidents on its fleet of
supersonic planes.
Air France said it had launched an investigation, and did not yet know
what had caused the incident.
The missing section was discovered after the plane - which had about
50 passengers and crew on board - landed at New York.

Re: Concorde Loses Rudder Part
I dare to speculate that the missing rudder part was discovered by the crew
long before the plane landed in New York.
