I expect the KLM catering will do that... so I think I've found it on
the map, let's hope I can find it...

I'm staying at the Nieuw Minerva this time.

Jim.

That used to have a nice restaurant but it changed hands. I don't know
what the restaurant is like now. The Nieuw Minerva is the one with the
bizarre web site. In Breestraat behind the Nieuw Minerva is a good
Vietnamease restaurant Noodl.

I've never had my card fozen but on two occasions where I was visiting
several countries inside a few days, the credit card company has phoned my
home to check I'm actually travelling.

I was actually quite impressed by that.

And do they take the fact that the answering machine was on as
verification that you were traveling?

I returned home on Sunday to find a message on my machine from my bank
CC fraud office asking me to verify charges from GB+Ireland. The call had
come in on Wednesday (time stamp), but they did not freeze the card.

Maybe they accepted my announcement: "I will be unable to return your call
until June 5th...you may leave a message with my housesitter or kids..." =R=

I'm not. They're not doing it to protect you. The credit card
company is stuck for the charges if the card is stolen and used.
