Default Budapest?

We are planning to go to Budapest for a week in early mai. Is Budapest a
interesting place to visit? And is there enough to see for a short week
stay? Any advice welcom!

Thanks,
Gijsbert

I'll be there too for a week in July- certainly my own research
indicates there is more than enough to do and see in a week, and be left
wanting to come back again. You might want to look at the past answers
to this and similar questions in the newsgroup by searching google. In
particular, I might recommend you search for +padraig +budapest, as that
will also give you some interesting travelogues from a regular here.

Lovely city, plenty to see and do.

Use Google. Search on groups with Budapest as your key search item and
look for messages in rec.travel.europe. You'll get loads of stuff,
much of it useful.

Very interesting. I loved it.

Take a trip out to Statue Park to see all the old communist era statues. It's
quite freaky...

A really nice city. Lots of stuff to do, and lots of positions where
you can take some fantastic photos. Not as touristy as Prague, and
cheaper. I would happily return there.
