Berlin Spandau hauptbahnhof
When arriving in a new city I prefer to know which general direction
to walk. When exiting the Berlin Spandau hauptbahnhof, is one
walking north or south? I will be going to the Ibis Spandau and I
know the hotel is close to the hauptbahnhof. According to the maps
I have seen, the hauptbahnhof is west and maybe a little north of the
Ibis hotel. If someone knows of a map of the hauptbahnhof, please
list the link.

I failed to find a map.
The line runs east-west at this point. The station is elevated
with IIRC the centre section covered.
Looking at the map of where the Ibis is, I'd be very surprised
if you can't see it from the Berlin end of the platform. If not
you need to exit the station at the opposite end to the U-bahn
connection.

The city of Spandau is on walking distane convenient just north of Hbf and
the Ibis is very close just south of the station.
Now if you want real detailed instructions try
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en
Select advanced search, select "Adress" for "to" and put in zipcode and
street adress
here "13581 Klosterstrasse 4 " and you'll get a good map and how to walk.
As you can see it's about 160m walk from Hbf

Busses and Stadtbahn trains have full bathrooms on board, including
Jacuzzi for the latest models.
