I was recently in europe for business purposes. I had some weekends
off so I decided to get a rail pass and explore europe. The rail pass
cost me about 875 dollars.
I also used the pass to travel from Stuttgart to Paris for business
purposes.
Since I need to file an expense report to get the fare from Stuttgart
to Paris
reimbursed I was wondering if someone could tell me what would be a
fair amount to expense.
I saw some sites that said the expense would be between 100 and 200
dollars and also some sites that said the expense was below 100
dollars for some specials.
I dont want to underquote or overquote myself but I'd like to get the
fair amount of compensation.
Do fares in europes vary by date ? and by how much in advance you book
the ticket ?
Could anyone tell me approximately how much i can charge ? or is there
some way to find out.
Its a first class sleeper ticket and the date of journey was 27th may
2004 .
The train left approximately at 11pm and reached Paris the next
morning.
I booked the reservation approximately 3-4 hours before departure time
.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I used this booklet published by German railways DB:
<http://www.nachtzugreise.de/DBautozug/images/Fahrplan.pdf>. Your
train is listed on page 32.
Assuming you had a compartment on your own (1er Belegung) the normal
price (ohne BahnCard) is either EUR 188,40 without shower/WC
(Schlafwagen Economy (Neu) mit Waschgelegenheit) or EUR 210,50 with
your own shower/WC (Schlafwagen Deluxe mit Du/WC (Neu)).
(The price you paid with your railpass should be the price listed
under Aufpreis.)
