What airlines provide service to Mykonos and Santorini? Is it only Olympic or do I
have other choices within Greece?
What service is there from other European cities - either scheduled service or
charter airlines to those islands?
Also, would anyone know of a web site that lists airports of the world and the
airlines that service them?
thanks

Six years ago I flew from Paris to Santorini, and then from Mykonos to Paris
(stopping at Rodos) on a Nouvelles Frontieres charter. They used Euro-Belgian
Airlines - which has now been bought out by Virgin and operated as Virgin-Express or
something similar. It was hard to arrange from the USA and both flight reservations
slipped through the cracks. Expecting this, I reconfirmed IN PERSON a couple of days
before each flight and things were worked out.
Of the Greek islands I've seen, I would choose Naxos and Paros.

My wife and I fly to Mykonos and Santorini every summer. The best way is to fly to
London and then catch an Olympic flight to Athens. From there we take the Olympic
puddle jumpers. As far as I know, they are the only regularly scheduled airline
(schedule comes out in mid February for summer). I have seen some charters arrive at
Mykonos, but most are from German destinations. Cost of round trip to Mykonos from
Athens is about 120 US dollars.

There are dozens of charter flights to these islands from every major European
capital, especially in the summer months. Tell us which country you are thinking from
travelling from, as each country has its own charter lines.

Re: Airlines Serving the Greek Islands
There are only two airlines serving the Greek islands now.
Olympic airways and Aegean airlines.
The cost of a return ticket Athens - any island - Athens is approx. 170 Euros including airport taxes.
Personally I prefer Aegean, as they have brand new aircrafts (with leather seats), good inflight service, nice and helpfull personell, and are 99% on time.
Olympic, has a sense of "monopoly" and they are not offering even a cup of coffee during the flight, are usually delayed, and their personell does'nt bother to help passengers (if having a problem) at all.
I'm flying twice a week between Athens and Thessaloniki (the company I'm working for has oppened a branch there) since last September and as long as both have the same price, I choose the one offering better service.
