Default __How Much is Gas in your Area__? ? ?

Oil hit $55 per barrel and is only expected to go higher.

So how much are you paying at the gas pump???

Will you be driving anywhere this spring or summer?

Here in San Jose, CA, the prices changes so much (sometimes more than
once a day) that any answer will be meaningless by tomorrow. Today,
Wednesday March 9, I paid $2.119/gal @ a local Costco for reg. unlead.

In PDX, cheap name-brand regular is $2 a gal.

Keep things in perspective. Are you from the USA?

I pay AU$90-$1.10 a litre, in Oz, the equivalent of US$2.60-$3.20 per
US gallon. Europe is much dearer from memory. And I'll be driving
7000km, about 4500 miles, over my next summer holidays. Last summer I
averaged over AU$1.20 wandering out in the back country areas.

My logic? The dearer it gets, the longer this non-renewable resource
will last. Not that my Christmas motoring helps that problem:-)

Cheers, Alan

Oil is about 1/2 the cost from 25 years ago under Democrat Jimmah Carter.

Roads are heavily subsidised from general revenue. If they were paid
for with gasoline taxes, then gas would cost over $5 a gallon in the
USA. That is why gas is more expensive in Europe.

Gosh, I just suggested that we start an OT thread and here it is already.
Interestingly, this might actually be of interest in rec.travel.usa-canada.
Naturally, it's not posted there -- yet.

Considering that about 80% of RTA is OT and Trolls. This thread isn't bad.
It actually *is* a bit interesting. It *is* associated with Travel, so it's
only 1/2 OT.

Apparently you're one of those narcissistic Americans who thinks that
only Americans drive and that Europeans are living in a stone age.

OT posts have always existed and will always exist. Deal with it.

If you don't like a thread, killfile it. Or kill yourself and make
the world a better place for the rest of us.

As far as I know, they do.
What does that have to do with a possible OT post?
