Hello,
I am planning on spending the first two weeks in June at Norway. Being a
professional photographer, I am looking for the most dramatic/spectacular
landscape sceneries. My current plane is to drive from Oslo to Bergen, to
Tromso, then back. I was wondering if anybody who knows the area would
give me some advices on:
1) Around which cities/towns/areas that I am more likely to find dramatic
sceneries and should spend more time at?
2) Is Norway's west coast more photogenic than the north?
3) What about the areas north of Tromso?
4) Is Svalbard worth a trip?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Best Regards,

My one comment is that your time will coincide with much of the snow
melt. Thus water will be plentiful. Many of the best sights of water
occur from the fjords so you should include some water excursions, even
if you go right back.

Brrrrrr! Did I schedule my Scandinavian vacation at the wrong time
of year?
We will be flying into Bergen on 14June and out of Copenhagen on
29June. What sort of weather should we expect? Should these
Floridians leave all their shorts home?

Nope, you choose wisely.

No, bring the shorts and some sun blocker too. If you decide to go sailing
it will be mandatory. But since the days are long (24 hours up north), there
will be lots of sun, and a good chance for you to get too much for a single
day.
I've heard that the west coast is the best part, but if I had the chance, I
would also go to Svalbard.
Happy travelling!

This is a magnificent time of year in Norway. The waterfalls will be in full
"bloom" and the weather is spectacular for hiking. A little chilly at night,
but gorgeous all the same.

Frankly I was thinking of Bergen north. The weather will be fine, if
occasionally rainy. It was in Kirkeness that we got snow in June. If
you want photos though the water flow is wonderful.
You may use shorts in Copenhagen but as Floridians you will feel chilly.

Hi
I live in Stavanger on the south west coast of Norway. I live near a place
called Kjerag (look at this picture:
http://www.gardkarlsen.com/norway/Ni...eragbolten.jpg
). I think this is a beautiful scenery and the view from this 1000 meter
mountain is amazing on nice summer days. The rock is wedged in the crack in
the mountain so it is a bit exciting the first time you walk on to the rock

Hi Jim,
In your way to Tromso, I would suggest a night stop at Narvik. The
city itself is quite ugly (for lack of a better word in English (sorry
if there is any local reading this
)), but once you go up the ski
station the view of the midnight sun is outstanding !!! IMO it's a
great place for taking photographs, and you'll have no crowds at all.
