I have no problem with the site. Maybe it's because I make an effort to understand Portuguese as I live here.

I have some problems with the site, I find it difficult to navigate and to find what I'm looking for.
No trouble with language though, I use google translate on the Chrome browser.

Those who wish to interact with authorities or companies in Portugal should expect Portuguese as the language to be used and that they need to make the effort to translate communications where required, rather than assuming the Portuguese to communicate in English. I think that having a Portuguese company provide information in English should be treated as a bonus - and it is certainly not something generally reciprocated in the UK.

However, that being said, The CTT site does offer such a facility, but the way in which it loses currency on the page where translation is requested, plus the apparent inability to display required content from the translated home page, both point to a failure on the site, as I stated.

Billbullock - I’ve been here 2 years and am currently attending my 5th Portuguese course. I’d call that making an effort.

So go to the link, insert your car matriculation number, and if you owe any money, you will be directed to the next page which gives you MB payment details. What's difficult about that?

I used one junction of the A22 last wednesday, it's not showing up at the pay stations. I spoke to a Portuguese guy who said that happened to him, didn't do anything because he thought all of his tolls were paid it, then two years later he got a hundred plus fine for what was a 3e toll. I've been given a number to call now I have to sort it out!!!

There is one stage of the A22 which is free, between the Sao Bras and the Loule junctions. Was this your journey?

We came off for Tavira onto the N170 I think we got on near MAR Algarve Shopping. I thought the free section was the last one before Spain.
I think we went J13 to the Tavira one which I think is J16.

I managed to get a number to call the toll people. We have only had the car two or three weeks and there is still a transponder linked to the car. I was told that the previous owner maybe has not changed the transponder account and paid it or that Via Verde will not be able to collect the DD so will send it back for payment at the Post Office, if that happens I will have 15 days to pay it, so I will call again next week to check. Just thought it might be a help to anyone in a similar situation.
