Yet it would be so easy, in fact, to prosecute this group, convict at least some if not all of them, and then for the airlines to list them as 'do not fly' and the Portuguese authorities to list them as ' do not enter national territory'.

Would keep this load out, and would deter many others.

Not defending these chaps in any way but these people were not in Portugal when the two stabbings / muggings took place.

So one imagines the perpetrator is still at large.

I totally agree. What I find coincidental is that both incidents involved chaps on a stag night who got "lost" from the others.
