We are having trouble finding a company to clear and store our boxes when they arrive in Portugal from Malta. Most of the international movers seem to only deal with UK. Its all sorted at the Malta end but the Agent there is having difficulty tracking down a company in the Algarve to act at this end. We need our household goods cleared and stored pending delivery. We may have found one company in Lisbon I believe but it might make more sense to ship to the Algarve and use a company based here. By the time of arrival we will be in the Central/East Algarve, Sao Bras de Alportel. Any recommendations gratefully received!

They are based in Almancil . I have just used them to bring stuff from the UK. They strored it for 3 weeks over Xmas prior to delivery

Unlikely you'll find anyone based in the Algarve.

When we moved up from Lagos to the Torres Vedras area a few years ago, I had to contract a Lisbon-based business to undertake work & Storage.

Are your boxes coming by sea-land or by sea. If the latter, they will probably be landed at Sines, Setubal or Lisbon.

You could also try to see if there are any companies on Huelva or Seville. Just as near!

Thank you - yes you are right, its looking exactly like that. I had assumed it would be Faro, but it seems that Lisbon is the main gateway.

Thank you guesswork, yes I tried them first thinking that it would all be much of a muchness within the EU, but they only do a handful of countries - UK, Spain and one or two others. They were not able to help with Malta. However it does look as though many removal/transport companies that have done a lot of UK business for years may have their work cut out in the future.

I think (hope) we have it sorted now - but my thanks to all those of you who offered advice, much appreciated!
