Quick tax-declartion Q to get me started.
Hi,
Once I can, I will go out and get the proper advice from an accountant. For now I just want to know what you would do. I will seek professional advice too.
This will be the first declaration, we are a married couple. Both have NIF numbers, we are both registered on Financas portal.
Are there any benefits, monetary or otherwise of submitting using the Joint Taxation method?
In the UK a married couple can share the Tax Free allowance, is there something similar here?

Re: Quick tax-declartion Q to get me started.
Couples have a choice each year of whether to be taxed separately or in conjunction.
As a general rule, there would be an advantage to opting for joint taxation if there's a significant difference between the income of one vs the other or if one has no income at all.

Fantastic help guys.
If we do a joint application do we *both* submit a joint application through the portal or just one of us?

You do a joint declaration through the portal with the one person completing the online forms and as you apply to do a joint declaration you will be asked to enter the NIE of the other person and then validate it with their portal access code . The form will then automatically take you through a joint declaration . To submit the form at the end of the process you will need to validate again both persons
