You have to go an IMT office.

Why's that?
There is a facility for renewing a PT licence online and it doesn't rely exclusively on having a PT Cartão de Cidadão. Is there something else that precludes foreign residents from renewing online? It doesn't seem to be explicitly mentioned anywhere that I've come across pointers to it or in the notes about the procedure.

Sorry, had to rush off, as one of next doors dogs had jumped the fence again and was having a go at the cat, so couldn't finish off what I was going to say.
My husband is 72 and he had to have a medical certificate, which we had to show at the IMT in Beja.
Maybe if you're under 60 it's okay, but he needed the medical certificate.

Never a dull moment, eh?
Was that recent?
Nowadays the medical certificate is supposed to be transmitted directly (or otherwise made available electronically) to the IMT.

It was last October. And yes, I know it can be done that way, but they still wanted to actually have the paper one.
Also I could pop into Lidl on the way back.
Next doors dogs are another issue. Do not get me started on that one, you'd be here for the rest of the year.
