Default NHS Covid Passport showing Invalid on Portuguese App

We tried to eat inside a restaurant this Saturday evening. We showed our NHS Covid QR Codes - both the Pfizer vaccination.

The Portuguese App happily read the QR codes and correctly displayed our names, etc. However, it said that our vaccinations where invalid.

The restaurateur said he was pulling his hair out as he has had to reject many local and loyal Brits where the same thing has happened.

He also said that some establishments where not being as careful ... but I respect him sticking to the rules.

So we are now lepers at weekends ... having to eat at home or try to find somewhere outdoors. What will happen when it gets cold or wet?

I have not been able to find any similar comments elsewhere.

We were thinking of having our Covid certs downloaded on the the Portuguese health app as some Posters have already managed - however, my guess is we will be turned away.

Another option is to get two Portuguese jabs - but not sure what risks are - see there is still a debate about how many ml need to be administered, etc.

Anyone with a similar experience. Or know what we can do????
Cheers

PS Yes, we both have Saude numbers

My wife and I were at different CdS centres, mine logged my UK jabs into pt system without question, hers refused so she changed centre to mine and all OK. We now have EU certificates showing jabs given in Portugal.

Friends did it at Faro Centro de Saude this week and received certificates on-line same day.

Wonder if anyone has had problem with getting into Restaurants or Hotels with their NHS Covid "Passport"?

At the moment there are still plenty of restaurants with outside dining facilities but in a few weeks' time it will be too chilly. We got a printed version which the NHS sent us by post. It looks slightly different to the downloaded version but the info is the same. It was accepted by border control at Faro Airport so I cannot understand why restaurants shouldn't do the same. If they don't they won't have any British tourists.

How do we go about transferring the info of our UK jab certificates on to a EU/PT one. Can we do this online(and if so) how ? or do we have to go into our local Centro de Saude. Can't find the way to do it online.

Take your UK vaccination card (not the certificate) to Centro de Saude and ask them to do it.

This restaurant Covid rule only applies during weekends. Should be interesting to see, as we go forward, whether they extend it to weekdays or go the opposite way and abolish it altogether.

OffPiste said "Another option is to get two Portuguese jabs - but not sure what risks are - see there is still a debate about how many ml need to be administered, etc."

And to note that it is not advised medically to just turn up and get two more jabs if you have already been jabbed!!!!! They are still debating the Booster jab, let alone two more within (perhaps) a short time scale - do not even contemplate it. If you have Utente numbers go to your Centro do Saude, as others have said, and ask to be put into the PT system.

Hi Rambling Archer, yup, will bring NHS vaccination card next time - left in UK.

Re third or more doses, they is a debate as to whether the booster should be 50ml ra5her the initial 100ml. Another is UK research study going on as to what are the best different combinations.... also apparently the Israelis are looking into giving a fourth jab - so will what dosage & vaccine used in case I decide to take the risk.

Hopefully the NHS card will to the trick with Centro de Saude. Cheers
