Moving to Portugal. What is the best way to get house contents there

Re: Moving to Portugal. What is the best way to get house contents there
UPDATE: Happy me, after HUGE searching for a cheap method, yes, yes, my fellow Expats, I use that dirty little word ‘CHEAP’, to bring our furnishings from France to the Algarve, we have secured a solution! Here are a few ideas we tried, perhaps it will help someone else.
1) Renting a truck and driving 1,875km each way? Daunting! As an Early-Eldery person the trip sounded like way too much hard work, big truck, long hours, Tolls, fuel, motels. Then packing & loading etc… But the REAL problem was finding ANY truck that would carry 30m3 to rent across three countries! Yes, there are a million car rentals but not trucks. Perhaps there was a one-way rental? Fly to Lyon and drive the truck to a drop-off in Portugal? No way, Jose’. Spain yes, Portugal, NO; funny that.
2) Rendezvous with one of those Uber cheap relocation companies offering a service specifically between the Algarve and UK/Ireland. Thought we could piggy-back on a returning partial or empty load. No, as ALL their trips FROM the UK/Ireland are full weeks in advance.
3) Search local Portuguese businesses that may service France or other EU counties with deliveries, etc. Initially a bit hard with our limited language skills, but to be honest our success had nothing to do with our ability to speak Portuguese; it had 100% to do with relationship building and the on-the-ground networks of our new Portuguese contacts. We asked everyone; owners of our favorite restaurants, the pool man, hair dresser, etc.
EUREKA! A company that delivers Portuguese fruit and vegetables to France will swing by our little village deep in the Beaujolais vineyard hills with their ‘lorry’ to pick-up our things. They even offered their driver to help load and unload for pennies on the dollar compared to any other relocation service.
No there is no insurance and such as in a proper relocation company but for a quick, direct, affordable service, it works for us.
So we are happy campers...

Well we made it, been here now for 6 weeks and love it .
They had to put all our stuff in a smaller van as the large truck could not get up our lane.

Why don't you try Transportes Senhora da Agonia LDA
The chap there...Cesar Curado.... got a Polish company to come to us .
We arrived just last Friday .
We had our own van for 30 boxes , bed , chest , bookcase and other bits .
The Polish driver Alex was very helpful and friendly . We did give him a hand as he was on his own .
Hope you get sorted
