Longer term holiday rentals in Potugal
Good Morning, I wondered if anybody could offer advice please. I am retired (lived and worked overseas in the ME for 17 years) and looking for options to travel and stay overseas (Europe) for extended breaks between one to two months.
Holiday rental prices are too high to consider for extended stays. I wondered if anybody has information for websites which offer lower price, perhaps last minute rentals of between one to two months on the coast of Portugal. Ideally anything up to 2 bed and anything up to £700 a month.
Also any suggestions on areas (we like fairly low key, small places, but can also go with busier too). We don't need much to entertain us!

Then search the area you want , then search the calendars on each properties until you find empty weeks, depending on the time of year and particularly in winter in the Algarve it is often possible to email the owner and ask if they are prepared to offer a discount . We did this, the majority said "No" but a couple said "Yes" and we opted for one of these. If you have the patience it may work.
Note that the Eastern end of the Algarve may suit you better than the West but also check another beautiful area along the Alentejo Atlantic coast - anywhere from Aljezur to Vila Nova de Mil Fontes. Some beautiful bays , a few of them filled with genuine "hippies" in motorhomes with satellite dishes !
