My Meo contract is up and I don't want to pay 40 euros a month. I got a worsen mobile pamphlet that seems to have all the provider prices and nowo has cheapest offer at 16.25 for 6 months and then 32.50 cheaper if you do it online but I didn't take it any further has I had to tick I,d read the t+c . Has anyone used nowo and does anyone have a number to call Moe and discuss contract in English, I used to but can't locate at moment

Make sure you read the small print and check that prices don't rise after a six month offer/discount period. Check also whether you are signing up for 'fidelity' to them for a two year period (if you cancel before they send a request to pay the balance of the two year period). Make sure that the speeds they claim as 'up to' really are available in your area. Don't forget you have only a 14 day cooling off period to cancel a new contract. Check that the service is not 'capped' at a fixed number of gigabytes per month - if you plan to watch IPTV or have kids that like online gaming then that limit gets reached quite fast.
To call Altice (Portugal Telecom as was) just dial their normal number and ask for an English speaking operator. It used to be you could press '9' at the first menu - that may still work too. They have lower prices for internet only service and usually try to offer clients a price match deal rather than losing them.
(In UK try calling British Telecom sometime - ask for someone that speaks Portuguese and see what they say !

I'm renewing with MEO today having had their ADSL M2 TV e Voz package for 31 Euros per month for 4 years. I am changing to ADSL M2 Net e Voz for 28.99 Euros per month with free landline calls and unlimited download. I don't need the TV part of the package. I cannot get fibre optic cable where I live so am limited to the old copper wires. Even so, I get a steady 5 Mbps download speed which is good enough for internet TV. I negotiated the contract using the freecall number 800 209986.

Not sure who you mean by worsen and moe?
I presume you mean Worten and MEO.
You don't say where you live.
You don't say what package you currently have with MEO - ADSL or Fibreoptic.
The first thing to check is what other services are available in your area. NOWO may only be available in the old Cabovisao areas.
If you just want Internet (no fixed phone or TV) both NOS and Vodafone have packages just offering Internet Access over the mobile network.

&

If you select one of these packages it is IMPERATIVE that you check the strength of your mobile coverage at the exact spot the equipment will be located. (Min. 4G 4Bars)

Thanks will check all these. Sorry about my auto complete spelling .I spell it correctly and the system changes it
NOWO do not cover my area 8800-608. I like the idea of the hotspot router I have four bars, could you use fire stick tv with that? My current meo package is 30 Mbps download / upload. I will call them to see what they offer me to stay with them

I have always used my android phones as hotspots for laptop.
I use MEO, get with them and then each year tell them you are going to stop contract, they will either lower monthly charge or give you more GBs.
I currently get 50gb/month for €10/mth (had contract for 5 years, started at €29/moth for 20gb)
Benefit is of course you have mobile wherever you go., even back to UK where I get 15gb/month and can connect to all networks.
No brainer, landline is finished, cannot compete with mobile 4G, let alone 5G in future.
Certain phones are good receivers. My experience says steer clear of ASUS phones and go for Xiaomi, which seem to have much better reception.
Dunno about apple, but dont like so dont use.
Check signals in your house/flat to ensure you go with the right company to start.
Thats my experience anyway, others might disagree.

Wellnever is on the money!
I agree!
The future is mobile 5G/6G but it will be dependent upon signal coverage.
