We will be flying to Porto on 2nd June and returning on 3rd June to look at a property. Has anyone any idea how long it takes to get the Covid test results through at Porto airport. As we will only be there for less than two days and the airport web site states that you will not be allowed to leave without this , then do we go for the test as soon as we land or do we get to the airport early on Thursday ,take the test and hope that the results come through before we fly. Also i understand that the PCR tests cost 100 euros per person and 150£ per person from the UK which amounts to twice the cost of the fares for a party of three. Is this correct

I don't know about Portugal, but here in Brazil I have a lot of PCR tests for work. The most important variable in the speed of getting the results is the pick-up time of the samples from the test station, and the time to get them to the lab. Here most places quote 48 hours turn-around, but actually times seem to be 12-24 hours if the timing is right (my local lab has pick-ups 0900 and 1400, so testing at 14:30 would add 19 hours to the results).
The other challenge you have is the Corpus Christi on the 3rd. I hope you have flexible flights.

Is it the same lab as LIS? I've booked one at LIS, rapid kind, ready in less than hour. Flying TAP it's €21

Just a thought about current departure covid tests in Portugal........if you holiday in the Algarve staying in say a hotel without own transport, how and where will you get a pre flight C19 test for your return?? Are there enough private testing places if it gets really busy??

Asked a local test provider in Algarve (also rest of Portugal) about Antigen test for flight to UK from Faro......here is their reply....

`We are at the airport, front of the check-in, doing ONLY ANTIGEN tests for flights to Germany, Luxemburg, Estocolm, Geneve, Zurique, Basel and UK (only Heathrow), we don`t do appointments and the priority is the flights of the same day.
We open 4 hours before the flight, cost 30€ and we need 40 min to give you the result by email.
We were just there during flight times.
Our test is in several languages and contains all the criteria recommended by WHO.`

Why only Heathrow in UK??? Anyone with an answer?

They added that for a PCR test you need to go to local lab at cost of €100

Probably because the only direct flights to the UK are to Heathrow and only from Lisbon at the moment.

No, this is Faro airport I am talking about.
But I think you are right in that there are no Direct flights from Faro to Heathrow, other than fly TAP from Faro to Lisbon and onward to Heathrow.
If these antigen tests will be accepted by the likes of Ryanair when flying into all other UK airports that will certainly make things easier, although very very very busy at the airport in full swing in July etc
