Dies anyone know if a Freeview+ box bought in England will operate in Portugal with all the associated functions when connected to a 1.4m dish and will it receive all the freeview channels that one can receive in England. If so does one need an extra cable running from the dish to the box as it is with SKY+

Hi. It' a Freesat Box you need not a Freeview. I have a 50 pound unit I took out as a spare in case my Sky box fails and it works prefectly.

As has already been said a freesat+ box and not a freeview+ box is what you need. If you have a freesat+ box then an extra cable running from your dish will be needed. to accommodate this extra cable you will probably need to upgrade your LNB to one with at least 2 outputs

Thanks for help, I was obviously confused between freesat and freeview. I just require the facility of pause and record so it looks like a freesat+ box I will need in Portugal.

We are close enough, does your 140cm dish survive the winter weather on ALL free and available channels or should I get a bigger one to be on the safe side?
