Just go to the usual post office (CTT) - most recent thing we have sent is a jiffy bagged DVD to Sweden and that cost €2.35 - registered / signed for costs approx double.

Great! I had contemplated the post office but was a bit concerned that any post form england can sometimes take a few weeks to arrive. I will take a wonder into Tavira in the morning and pop in the post office thanks for the post
Thanks

We live in the Tavira area too and find that stuff we send from here usually arrives quickly, but stuff coming this way is more likely to be slow. The only exception is when we have used small post office (i.e. Conceicao) - then it seems to be slower than using a main one such as the one in Tavira...

If you want to send port you should buy it from a place that packs for carriage we have been sent wine from Germany and it looked just like a barrel end when we took off the wrapping but the bottles were all sound and the glasses and corkscrew were just what was needed to get started on the eiswine.
