Does anyone have experience of trying to amend address details at the appointment for application of the temporary resident card (or if this should be tackled subsequently once TR card has been issued)?

You should change address info at appointment. Proof of address is required, atestado or official utils bills/letters.
Surely you would want card to be posted at correct address.
