Its worse than that... there is in fact 4 channels of rubbish!

Think your best option would be to download a load of stuff onto an external hard drive or memory stick in the UK before you come over?! A top up dongle would cost you a fortune to watch TV.

Hi Gedscottish

That's just what i did and i had over 1TB of films and TV series. Now i use Filmon i have enough to last me for may years stored on my external hard drive. A USB memory stick wouldn't save much but it is an option.

I dont understand if this is to do with licensing why on earth can they not offer BBC etc via internet with payment of a license fee? Just because we don't live in the UK doesn't make us not British anymore and surely we still have the right to watch British tv if we want to and pay for it?

Sky are going to find they get so many subscription cancellations...!

It is all to do with international broadcast treaties and program copywrite.Nothing to do with BBC,rITV or SKY. Nothing to do with the license fee which in itself has or to do with the BBC. It is a license to receive a UK televised transmission in the UK. You pay it even if you never watch BBC. The government just pays it to the BBC as part of their funding.

Hi Rob

Do you have a modern TV that you can connect a computer to or a laptop? If you have both then get a cable from a computer shop and link the two and use Filmon. You will have all you want.

Below is a screenshot taken of channel 5 it also does fullscreen

Unfortunately we have no internet in Portugal. It isn't worth it for a couple of months a year.

Hi all

Rather than salalites havve you looked at the internet? Here in Canada we get the BBC and ITV and all other channels great quality internet. Used to watch it on the laptop connected to the TV. We now watch BBC on our tv through the playstation and a friend uses a Roku. Great thing is its FREE. We bought a router that gives us a UK ip address brilliant. Loads of mates in Ottawa now use it called netglobaltv great as we can watch it on TV. Just as well as TV in Canada is well... ENOUGH SAID.

Its a router that just connects to your modem. I think the router then connects to the UK and back to you so it gets a UK address which the means you get the BBC . Your playstation is wireless so we just connect the PS3 to the router and we have BBC ITV, NETFLIX LOVE FILM. Have to say quality here in Canada is great just like UK. Use Iplayer mainly on the PS3 we also get ITV on PS3 as well. Let me know if you need any more info. Also you can use a Roku which gets the bbc.
