The couple of days of EVOC might be doing some very basic driving on how they like you to take corners and breaking then it will probablly focus on the procedures and jobs to do for opperational T stops upto high risk T stops with weapons drawn, its good fun as they use simunition and you get into a few gunfights at the track.

just out of interest, why do Canadian (and US) police always stop cars, and then speak to the driver through the drivers window? with their arse nicely placed into the flow of traffic. just waiting to be run over.. how many times have we seen "worlds wildest police videos" where they either get run over, or shot as they lean through the window.
we were always taught the opposite, approach from the pavement side. plus if they wanted to shoot you its a harder target as they have to shoot through the a frames of the car. or better still, get them out of the car so you can see what they are up to. whilst they are sat in the car they could be reaching for anything without you being able to see. first thing you see when you poke your head through their window is the barrel of a gun!
ive found another LVNR, whats that?

yeh should be good fun, but in terms of fast driving not quite up to UK advanced standards.

i picked up my uniform today, lots of shiney new kit. but does anyone know what the old fashioned gold key is for? it was tucked into the traffic ticket folder..
also, i tried on the wooly pullover, but they didnt actually give me one in my box of kit. is this normal? also, they didnt hem any of my trousers, now i have a voucher to get my 3 street ones hemmed, but they didnt give me the No.1 dress ones, do they hem them in the stores at a later date and keep them until that time?

i tried calling and asking this last week, but couldnt get hold of anyone..

you will be issued a locker in the same building where you ran your PARE. You will be required every morning to come in, get changed, then walk in groups of 4 to the Police Admin building via the plus 15.

Hi Kitty,
No need to brind all the kit but you can as you will get a locker. I have mine already and it is in District 1 on the 5th floor. I assume you will get one there as well. You need all of your kit for firearms on Tuesday, gun belt and all the other stuff that goes on it, needs to be on the rig for firearms on Tuesday afternoon. If you bring it Monday I can show you were everything goes if you dont know already. Or Tuesday morning will do just as well. Hope that helps and see you Monday morning.

what do we wear for firearms? do we get coveralls or something?
i picked up my issue trousers yesterday, only to get them home and find they were still 3 inches too long. so they are back in Moore's today with a promise they will be done by this evening!
how did you get the locker already? its not a big issue for me anyway as i only live 6 blocks away from the training school!
