Charcoal tablets have always worked for me (not the time-release ones, though), they seem to go through the body picking up all the nasty stuff, poo will come out black BTW so don't panic. Rice cooked with dodgy water is a particular nasty in the tropics (the locals can't see the problem with water collected off an asbestos roof!) rather than salad, which I have not had a problem with.

It was KFC that gave me a couple of nights in hospital during one of my early trips. I've just done a 10 month stint in he Philippines and think the heat can loosen you up occasionally, I think you must sweat internally.

Hey guys, I've been living in the PH from the UK for the past 18 months and my stomach still cannot come to terms with the new way of life.
I seem to be getting "Traveler's diarrhea" once every month or so ... Anybody else have these problems and any advice on how to overcome this? Thanks
