Mine's 8.1.0. Can use the desktop but phone more convenient. So looks like need to fork out for a new phone.
Yes, I had to upgrade my Android 8 a few months ago due to this because I don't have a laptop.

Lloyds had been sending warnings about this for months.

Prior to that, I could not access the BPI app nor that of Globe so sadly had to retire my phone.... after only 8/9 years!
