Dr Susan Oliver published a video, reviewed here on April 11, which looked at claims that cancer was increasing generally. She showed that in England it wasn't and there was no recent data available in the US to judge the claim.. Anti vaxxers have misleadingly highlighted cancers in the young, alarming many people, even though the upper age limit is 49.
Some data I didn't include on April 11.
Excess cancer England into negative territory from September 2023.
Before that excess and negative periods roughly balancing out.
Neither Campbell or Dr Dalgleish responded to Dr Oliver's video.As usual.
Then he found a Japanese cancer study:
Immediately the title rings alarm bells. Naming mRNA vaccines including the term "Nanoparticle" is unnecessary and can be seen as pandering to anti vaxxers,
The study's findings are obvious when Campbell starts off by saying "...this is going to be somewhat of a difficult watch..."
Against that Campbell's videos have themselves been difficult to watch over the last 2 oryears!
In opposition to the England data. Yet the paper has an impressive number of charts and some advanced statistical methods employed. A tick appears against the Peer Reviewed box. Then I had a feeling I had heard some time ago that this Cureus journal was one which would go out of its way to publish papers from research groups with anti vaxxer beliefs. Then what knowledge does Campbell have about Japanese data and policies during the Pandemic? I thought little.
Luckily two excellent You tubers quickly came out with their views on it:

The authors show the extent of temporal correlation with the vaccine roll outs.
Campbell makes a great deal of the low excess mortality in Japan in 2020. Noting the very different UK 2020 excess mortality as the virus spread quickly there. Suggesting a lack of care and over use of pain killers in care homes and that this caused many deaths to be recorded as covid caused. That is a mini campaign of Campbell's he has pushed a few times.The main cause, Dr Oliver says. for the lower deaths was the later arrival of the virus in Japan.
Japan, like Australia and NZ, closed its borders to the original virus and its variants. Britain, in contrast, did not do that.
The pay off for Japan and Aus/NZ was later exposure to the milder Omicron variant and treatment improvements, resulting in lower mortality, despite confounding factors. For Japan one is the older population than the UKs..Campbell seizes on the much lower mortality in Japan and explains it erroneously by saying UK vaccination didn't save lives as claimed.
The small red circles with their pluses and minuses are bit difficult to see, even when the chart is expanded, but the official Japan cancer dashboard doesn't show anything much outside of what was expected. No big increase after the first booster roll out in 2021.
This data was not referenced in the paper. Possibly because the authors don't believe in official statistics, which is a commonly held anti vaxxer view. Or maybe because it doesn't support their claims? Few people outside Japan will look at the official Japanese dashboard, as Dr Oliver did. Even know it exists.
Dr Oliver did find this paper in a reputable journal to provide corroboration:

Did vaccination have any effect on cancer deaths ?
A US study said 81% of excess cancer deaths had covid on their death certificate.
There was an 18.5% fall of monthly average deaths post vaccination compared to the pre vaccination period.
The authors of the paper push the idea that past progress with cancer came to an abrupt end in 2020. Campbell going even further in his video by wrongly saying for their four top cancers (lung, colorectal, pancreatic and stomach) in Japan there was a decline. There was actually only a fall in the rate of decrease. Read his own notes wrongly!
And Dr Oliver says that the paper was wrong about that anyway and she gives the official data for the most common cancer in Japan, lung cancer, which correctly calculates age standardised mortality rates. Trends that did not change after 2020.
Only showing a leveling out in 2021 for the lower numbered women in Japan.
We don't know about the UK says Campbell.
We do.
Until 2021 a downward trend, possibly a slight increase in 2021.

An interesting point is, though most anti vaxxers are not aware of it, the great majority of primary covid vaccinations in the UK were from the AZ vaccine. Which is an adenovirus vector vaccine not an mRNA vaccine. So their mRNA argument has less relevance to the UK. They should rely on boosters from 2021 and many do blame them, though possibly only due to their later timing..
Other countries too don't show cancer death increases after 2020:

In one of his shorter videos Dr Wilson notes the Japan study does not compare the vaccinated to the unvaccinated.
Doesn't examine any confounding variables ie other factors which could influence both vaccination and cancer deaths.
The paper is suggesting a temporal correlation with possibly showing a cause from covid vaccination.
He explains that due to the accumulating effects of genetic mutations, and possible effects of carcinogens from the environment, cancer develops over time. So even if there was an effect it would be long delayed.
This is what the authors wrote:
"The significance of this possibility warrants further studies" it says at the end.
Dr Wilson notes, as Dr Oliver did, that there was a Pandemic going on in Japan in 2022! One factor affecting cancer that was missed was missed diagnosis and treatment, the former especially crucial with cancer. A US study reckoned about 13%:

The age factor is shown in this UK data::
With cancer processes within cells get broken down causing uncontrolled growth. mRNA vaccines are not carcinogens. The spike proteins they generate do not interfere with cell processes.
Japan has one of the oldest populations in the world. It was badly affected by the Omicron covid variant in 2022, a milder disease producing variant than those affecting Western countries in 2020 and 2021. But it still had serious effects on an older population, one with more time to develop cancers.
I might add that anti vaxxers have also blamed mRNA vaccines for allowing the growth of so called "Turbo cancers".
DNA fragments and immune suppression are two arguments they use. The small amounts of DNA fragments cannot interfere with cell processes and helping the immune system to recognise SARS Covid 2 does not affect the body's ability to fight tumour growth.

It said improvements in mortality up to 2020 had ceased and leveled off.and that mRNA vaccines could well be the cause.
It presented temporal correlations with no attempt to look at other factors that could influence vaccinations and cancer deaths.
Nor did it look at any other possible temporal correlation.
It ignored relevant characteristics of cancer.
It suggested mechanisms but these are not accepted as reasons to suspect mRNA vaccines can cause cancer.
It didn't reference any differing studies from abroad in terms of cancer mortality trends.
Dr Oliver said their data on Lung Cancer was incorrect and did not show any leveling off.
Dr Wilson presented a graph pinpointing late 2021 when Campbell started talking conspiracies and ignoring the science.
Up to then he had presented papers only from respected journals and official data. I think from then he, as a nurse, was struggling to keep up with the science anyway. As viewing numbers increased and he achieved minor celebrity status he started to ignore the science and was drawn to promote conspiracy theories, for which there was already a growing market. Some suggest the much increased You tube income the main reason. I think maybe not the main reason, but I am sure it ensures he won't willingly stop!

As usual Campbell holds back from saying wide spread euthanasia was going on in the UK. From over use of Midazolam, one of 4 drugs used to ease people through their last days. But that it needs looking into....
Dr Oliver says that the author is an investment banker, A common feature now of Campbell videos lately is that many authors and interviewees have no medical qualifications.The journal is "pay to publish". There are 3 main indexes for medical science articles and this one isn't listed.

But, especially in 2020, covid testing was being rolled out and the number of positive tests was nowhere near the number of infections. Modelling efforts reckoned many millions of infections in 2020.
For the deaths in 2021, when vaccination began, the evidence suggests not being vaccinated was the main factor leading to death from covid.This chart is one of the more easily understandable pieces of evidence Dr Oliver has presented so far on the effectiveness of vaccination against covid death.

Shows clearly the brunt of deaths falling on the unvaccinated.
Campbell claiming the correlation is "tight". Dr Oliver points out it is a one month lag of injections to deaths. No evidence of deliberate euthanasia!
Anyway Dr Oliver notes there is such a thing as anticipatory prescribing for end of life care. Which is sensible.
Late death registration is suggested by the author as a reason. But ONS statistics show that the great majority of deaths from covid in 2020 were reported in a week or less.
Apart from Midazolam other end of life drugs were prescribed more during 2020. Prescriptions of these peaked at the same time in 2020.
Given al that the fact that Midazolam use and excess deaths peak close together is not surprising.
A final killer point:
The MIdazolam prescriptions do not include hospital use! Where two thirds of covid deaths occurred in England and Wales.They were for home or care home use. There was a tendency at that time for over loaded hospitals to refuse admittance or people did not want to be admitted. When at home some Midazolam was for covid sequelae patients, so death may not have been put down as due to covid.
Now you could excuse the investment banker author for missing that. Although does he think hospital doctors need prescriptions to give medicines!
But what about ex nurse Campbell? His apologists might say he just missed it. Others might say he knew but ignored it as the paper provides another useful piece of anti vaxx propaganda. Why? Because if he can link many more deaths to a drug those, on top of the number he may be claiming caused by vaccination would mean covid deaths from the virus would be much lower. This plays into the narrative that covid wasn't as bad as made out by the government and did therefore did not necessitate mass vaccination. On top of that allegations of money making conspiracies with drug companies by health ministers.
There have been attempts by those who also agree that Campbell is a disgrace to his former profession to get his registration removed from the Nursing Council's list. No reports anything came of those.
Campbell's supporters will just say Dr Oliver doesn't like him and she is jealous of his much larger numbers of subscribers.
Some of you may not know their history. This was only their only video together, some time ago now:
All was well for a while after that until the time in 2021 when Campbell started to get out of his lane with the science and Dr Oliver emailed him with some corrections. Cue the extensive library Dr Oliver now has of rebuttal videos of Campbell.
To end a few other Campbell videos he's flooded You tube with lately. In my opinion none of any interest on the Pandemic. But if you are interested in conspiracy theories and anti vaxxer propaganda they are worth a quick look:
A House of Commons speech on covid from someone not called Andrew Bridgen. Not altogether clear but he is likely a nurse by training, as he held a nursing supervisory post before becoming an MP. Agrees with Dr Dalgleish on mRNA technology.
Says their side effects are much worse than those reported.

An ex barrister with no obvious profession now involved in legal action in Australia.
Another non qualified person. But Campbell's followers as usual aren't concerned.
His case starts off with statement that mRNA is a genetic material. Which it is not.
Completely undermining his case that the mRNA vaccine is a Genetically Modified Organism (GMO).
He appears in a second video on a case dealing with vaccine indemnity.
In the first interview an anti vaxxer rant from a top Irish vascular surgeon. Obviously a publicity seeker, sporting 50 letters after his name. Many claims that he makes don't pass a fact check. Probably getting bored in Ireland.
Campbell interviews the Irish vascular surgeon again, showing some artery occlusions. Partial or complete blockages which can lead to ischemia for organs ie a shortage of oxygen.The results can range from minor to life threatening symptoms.
The occluded arteries going to the brain of one of his cases.
A person who had had covid twice and covid vaccinations. So what can you prove from that for one case?
Reminds me of those embalmer sourced white rubbery clot pictures Campbell showed earlier this year.
All good bait to attract ant vaxxer views, who will throw up their hands in horror,

Now concentrating on linking lower fertlity with covid vaccination.
As that is not enough now claiming the Dep Ed should not be closing schools in this summer's higher heat.
Saying they are doing it to support the "climate narrative".
Outside the scope here except that it shows her support for another conspiracy theory.
