Had a New Year clear out and decided to put some items on Olx - but something is going on there as the site has been under maintenance, at least for sellers, for two weeks or more. Put the items on two other sites - My Benta and Buy and Sell - but am not expecting anything much from them as they do not seem to be much frequented.

Worryingly, saw a comment somewhere that when Olx comes back they will start charging sellers.

Olx almost have a monopoly here now, except for the more complicated ebay, as they took over Ayos Dito last year.

Anyway,don't waste your time putting any ads on Olx for now - there's no warning sellers can't submit until you have tried to submit. Their advice is to monitor their Twitter account - but as of today there was no tweet on when they will return for sellers.

Just and update to say that Olx is up and running again, still free of charge, for now, anyway. Good, because not many buyers monitor their competitors.We already have an Olx offer for one item which has been on some other sites for weeks.

There were some restart teething troubles where an old error screen kept on popping up when you tried to sell, but it was eventually resolved, for me, anyway.
