Default Business opportunities

Ha... bet that title galvanised the mods into action!

So, this place appears to be "on the up". 3 UK universities, a UK International School, a n American International School, banks being encouraged to set up, etc.

There's money to be made!

Local services are a bit behind... is there anything you can do to help out?

So far we know that a cleaning / domestic help service would be used by at least three people ( )

A decent meat importer would do well.

Why oh why don't the houses here come with built in insect / mosquito screens? I came here from Canada and just about every house had a screen so you could open the windows / doors and keep the bugs out.

Any other ideas for a business you'd like to see?

PS, I'm in no position to start one, but I'm sure some people here could...

Geedee - there are a few meat importers - Pok Brothers, Harvest Frozen Foods and I think the other one is called Lucky Star.

I've only used Pok Brothers a couple of times. A lot of friends use Harvest and really like them. I'd love an organic meat supplier but I don't think that'll happen in my lifetime!

And I agree about the mozzie screens. My brother's house in Oz has them and they're fab.

Thanks for the info Bocat... we'll look them up. I think one of them was at MCM dishing out cards. We did actually find some really nice cuts imported from NZ at Cold Storage the other day... tasted lovely!

The mozzie screens might be a hard sell as I've yet to see a house with sash windows.... doors are easy though!

BB... do you think Malaysia has the right climate for vineyards?

One of my neighbours grows grapes in their garden. Not sure if they'd be wine standard but who knows!!

A wine standard? Surely you just dump them into a tin bath, jump in and squish them with your feet. Isn't that how it's done?
