Default why keep a certified copy of skills assess??

Might be a silly question, but why keep a certified copy of your skills assess??
What/where else will it be required?? My solicitor is getting fed up with me popping in.....can't possibly hassle him again with this. Would a photocopy suffice and for what use??
Thanks Mo x

I kept one but don't think I ever needed to use it as once you register with the local state you don't need it again.

In case the original gets lost?

It is never a good idea to part with important documentation, and if you must do so, at least take a copy.
