Am a nurse (pre july skilled independent) and have recently sent off police checks and medicals etc after they were requested by DIMIA..........
I have tried to search various parts of the forum, as well as austimeline to ascertain a rough timeline for when we might hear back???
Can anyone who has recently got their grant letter or anyone that might have any idea timescales please enlighten me?

Read the following thread 'Front loaded application for oz' will give you good idea of timelines for most under signature.
I am in very early stages of applying and found this thread the most helpfull.

http://www.austimeline.com/index.jsp seems to show that Nurses (Assessment Agnecy of ANCI) upto Tass have received their visa ... and she applied May 21st, apart from 3 appications. When did your application go in, and what's the rest of your timeline?

Hi,
we applied June 16 as did Aussiemad. She has just had her request for meds and checks and we haven't but are sending them anyway! The other applicant was told that she will have a case officer now (she rang Adelaide out of desperation) and was given the impression that she should be sorted by Christmas. When did you apply?

just seen a reply from an IT specialist who sent the m in 15 September vi sa gran ted 5 October Also a midwife posted start to finish whole application (front loaded 5 weeks) !!! just sent my police checks and meds today prior to these last few posts i was wondering if I would hear by Christmas looks like it will be sooner good luck Mary

Have a look at the www.gomatilda.co.uk site. Advice re skilled visa times. Post July seem to have speeded up considerably.
