School nursing / public health
Hi all,
Im a qualified school nurse (specialist practitioner) and wondered if there were school nurses in Australia?
I know NZ are introducing school nurses but wondered what the situation was like in Australia?
Am definately not going to live the rest of my days in UK, and being only 35 now and single, I wanna be moved to either aus or nz by the time i'm 40!!!
Thanks in advance, Alli

Yes there are school nurses. The positions are rare and in-demand and don't come up very often though.

Just saw an ad on seek.com.au for a school nurse in melbourne. Not sure if the link will work: http://www.seek.com.au/users/apply/i...JobID=11718469

If you are requiring a 457 visa you have a very small chance of getting a role in this area due to the schools not getting approval to sponsor for those positions given thast aren't hard to fill.
They are few and far between in general and local nurses jump on them when they come up.
Regarding the one in Melb on Seek, one of my friends is a teacher there and has said they never have troubles filling those vacancies.
