Registration in NSW
Advice wanted, I have P/R Visa, 15 years in medicine as RGN, apelled experience to diploma for continued education. Now I see RNSW registration want Australian Diploma or equivelant. So I am not sure how the land lies waiting to apply but not sure if it is worth applying to alternate states and possibly transfer across. Any information or constructive advice greatly appreciated as planning to go with family in August 2008.

Are you an RGN in the UK?
UK RGN qualification is OK for NSW

In my experience, you cannot register with NSW NMB from outside of the country, so if you were planning on registering before you go, then you would need to register in another state anyway. Probably best to check but i attempted last year and the rules had just changed about registration for international nurses...
