just got my offer of employment & have found out that the position ive been offered is in the orthopaedic unit in Redcliffe hospital....does anyone work there or know any thing about this ward..didnt have an ortho placement so am slightly worried now!!!!

Sorry for sounding so dozy but whats ed??? when do you start??? my start dates 10th June but think thats being a wee bit optimistic as they havent sent me a TRN no yet to start my visa app:curse:..... Good luck with the house sale....hope to see you on the other side!! jacq

i Had a job offer about 2 years ago from redcliffe in ITU. The hospital had a very good reputation but because it was a provincial hospital had problems with the retention of staff in my areas ( intensive care).
I never had the chance to go but did the research and it was good.

Ed stands for emergency department I haven't got a start date as such as Oh has got us the visa so free to get job where I want. Enquired via a contact and got offered a position. We are just waiting now as we have until Oct to validate. Hopefully there in next three months.

Hi Jaca,
Doing reccy in next 2 weeks! Arrive on Gold Coast with friends and visiting Redcliffe inbetween 25th and 28th of March. Like the look of the area and got a job offer in theatre for about August. Waiting for visas and house sale and worried that house sale might now take longer than visa completion which we estimate to be about end of July.
Im waiting for an email from the theatre manager and will be visiting the department I hope when on holiday. I will let you know what I think when I get back but have liked what we have seen when researching on internet etc. Good luck and cross your fingers for my house sale. Its driving me nuts! Lou

Hi there Davina, can I ask why you not go. I also was offered a job by Barbara Taylor, ICU manager at Redcliffe (last October) Problem was she needed me to start in next 6 months (at the time that meant July 08 at latest) and we only just sent visa application in.(today actually yippee!) I really liked the look of Redcliffe. I will certainly apply there again when I have my visa. Interesting about retention as I was told they were not holding jobs for people as they did not have a high turn over of staff.
