Default Prince Charles Hospital Brisbane

Does anyone work here or know anyone who works here?

I am going to have a look around when I go out in October but just wondered if anyone had inside information? lol.

Has a reasonable reputation and I'm keeping an eye on their community outreach as it is only 30 mins from me in case I want to move hospitals.

Hi Jackie, I have worked at Prince Charles for 15 months. Its a cardiothoracic hospital that is very much into research. I really like it cos the staff are really friendly & you can have a good laugh! You will find the sense of humour over here not quite as dry as you are used to. I worked in most of the Brisbane hospitals on an agency & chose to work at PC. I am from Macclesfield in Cheshire origanally. You will find quite a few english here. Good luck (good choice of hospital). Tina

Agree about the sense of humour but then I work with a Scottish lass so I have someone around with the dry humour.

Sent you a PM Jackie.

Thanks for that Tina,
Which area are you working in?
My background is mainly cardiothoracic HDU but I've just started on Cardiac ITU to get a bit more experience before I come out.

Hiya Jackie, I am in general ICU but the 2 units are linking together at xmas, there is a girl called Rosie from wythenshawe there who may know. Won't have problems getting a job cos like most places they are very understaffed. Tina x

I managed to get to Prince Charles in only 25 minutes from Petrie in very light traffic this morning at 7.30am so will have to keep it in mind for future job moves.

Thanks for that Tina. Are they permanently linking together? How will they link together? Will it be just one big unit or two units where staff are allocated on a daily basis/rotation? How many beds are there? sorry for all the questions. I don't think I know Rosie as I have never worked at Wythenshaw, although I do know some of the staff there.

Hi there just reading your posts about the PC hosp in Brisbane, we are moving out in Aug next year - my background is in cardiothoracic anaesthetics & recovery. We are looking at moving to the 'runaway bay' area and I really dont fancy the drive to the city each day are you aware of any similar 'good choice hospitals' in that area?
