Default Nursing Vacancies

Hi all,

My wife and I are moving to Sydney in the next 3 months.

She is currently getting registered with AHPRA.

She is a Clinical Nurse specialist with an MSc. Nursing, BSc degree nursing science and over 11 years post re. experience.

How difficult is the job market for nurses at the moment in Sydney?

Any advice much appreciated

What speciality does your wife work? I work in Theatres performing scrub and recovery and I have managed to secure 2 posts in Australia. One is in WA and I had the interview over in the UK, the other is in NSW and I had a telephone interview. I did not need sponsoring as I already have permanent residency.

Hi,

Shes currently working as an Infection Control Manager.
She also has experience in Theatre and Recovery.

I'm presuming you applied via recruitment websites such as seek etc, or did you go direct to the hospital websites ?

She has just sent off her AHPRA registration.
She can work on my 457 so she doesnt need to be sponsored.

When are you moving over?

No I applied through NSW health and the hospital in WA. I think it should be quite easy for her to find a post within theatres in Australia. Here is the website I used for the NSW job http://nswhealth.erecruit.com.au/ My husband nd I are heading to maitland in March.

Has she had a look at seek.com.au for an infection control position? Private hospitals, etc. will also require these skills, though she may not have the ID/micro dr back up that she would get in the public system. Infection control practice is influenced by what is happening in the UK & US, so I'm sure someone would happily snap her up
