Hi SmilingNurse
What about going to the Australian Nurse Federation website for Queensland. If you google Australian Nurse Federation or ANF you will find their website. They should be able to help.
I have just returned to the UK after working as a nurse/midwife in Western Australia for 5 years and I would agree with Cathy that your money goes much further over there. A level 2 post would be good and there are only 4 increments in the level 2 banding, so you will soon reach the top. I was a Level 2 increment 4 (top) on leaving in February and I was earning $65,764.00. It is probably more now.
Hope this helps.

Now all I've got to do is persuade my husband to go....he loves the idea and initially was very excited, but having mulled it over, he is concerned he won't get a job. He has 21 years of security / portering experience but unfortunately, in australia, certain courses / certificates / licenses are required in order to be employed in this line.
